Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between my Pack and my Den?

The Pack is everyone, Kindergarten through fifth grade. (On Scouting America paperwork we are Pack 006.) Your Den is your Scout's own grade: Lions are Kindergarteners, Tigers are first graders, and so on.

Most months you will have one Pack meeting and one Den meeting.

What do dues cost, and what do they cover?

Scouts register twice, once with Scouting America and once with Pack 6.

Scouting America dues are $85 for the 2025-2026 school year. They cover liability insurance for approved Scouting activities, background checks for adult leaders, youth protection and leader training, and program materials.

Pack 6 dues are $100. They cover badges and belt loops, Pack meetings, Den supplies, registration for Pack leaders, camping gear upkeep, Pinewood Derby costs (car kits, track maintenance, and race awards), and your Scout's navy Pack 6 t-shirt.

What uniforms do we wear, and when?

The Class A uniform is the official Cub Scout button-down shirt, navy for Kindergarten through fourth grade and khaki for fifth graders, with a navy belt to display earned belt loops. Scouts wear Class A to Den and Pack meetings, and to flag ceremonies on campouts.

The Class B uniform is the navy Pack 6 t-shirt. Scouts wear it for volunteer days, like garden clean-ups.
